Hospital Regional

Besides Hospital Antonio Lorena, Hospital Regional is the other main public hospital in Cuzco.  It is a bit larger, and is located in a more central part of town, on Avenida de la Cultura.  It is actually located right down the street from the public medical school, Universidad Nacional de San Antonio Abad de Cusco.

Hospital Regional consists of a large single building (unlike multiple separate wards at Hospital Antonio Lorena).  The hospital offers most of the typical services including medicine, surgery, obstetrics, and pediatrics.  In addition, they are one of the few sites that have a neurosurgery ward, and infectious disease service.  In fact, the infectious disease service receives most of the tuberculosis, pneumonia, and leishmaniasis cases in the area.

Hospital Regional also accepts foreign students to work in the hospital.  They charge a tuition of $150 per month.
