Guinea Pig for Lunch

One day, after visiting the Pikillaqta Ruins (post to come later this week), Kenzo and I, along with the Fernandez Baca family, headed to Tipon, which is supposedly the place to eat cuy.

So, how was it?  Actually – it was  good.  It kind of reminded us of dark chicken meat or maybe even duck.  The Peruvians eat all the way through the brain – Kenzo and I, however, could not handle that.  But, we really did like it and will probably try again.  If you’re coming to visit and want to try it – let us know.

The restaurant where we ate.

Menu of the Day

This one was decapitated!

Roasting.

Some beer to go along with our first cuy experience.

Yep.
